Qigong with Bozena
Monday & Friday 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Qigong is a type of health exercise. It is based on repetitions of precise sets of movements, specifically designed to benefit health on many different levels. Qigong practice integrates posture, movement, breathing technique, self-massage, sound, and focused intent.
There are likely thousands of qigong styles, schools, traditions, forms, and lineages, each with practical applications and different theories about Qi (vital energy).
In our Qigong class we learn sequences:
- Ba Duan Jin, known also as Eight Pieces of Silk Brocade
- and Shibashi, known as Eighteen Movements.
The movements in both of these sequences are gentle, slow, smooth and suitable for all ages.
We also learn the Six Healing Sounds system which is based on the theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Our typical Qigong class includes:
- calming the mind (to gain mental balance and centering)
- warmup – with gentle movements
- qigong exercises and sequences
- closing meditation
This class is open to all levels – beginners welcome! And your first class is FREE!
Participants should wear comfortable clothing that is easy to move in: T-shirt and exercise pants plus indoor sneakers (or have bare feet)
Qigong is easy to learn and enjoyable to do. Even a few minutes of practice can have an invigorating and rejuvenating effect. Regular practice brings deep strengthening effect for the whole body and its various systems (immune, nervous, digestive, respiratory, skeleton-muscular, hormonal, etc.).
